Williamsburg Inn Regency Room

Regency Room

Savor distinctive food and wines in an atmosphere of graceful elegance in the renowned Regency Room, open daily. Our dinner menu offers a distinct selection of favorites including tomato-rosemary ravioli with smoked duck confit, sweet lobster bisque, and roasted domestic lamb loin and oxtail rillettes, and classics such as Chateaubriand and the Williamsburg Inn crab cake. The Regency Room was recently named to the Nations Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame. Complement your meal with the perfect wine from our wine list, named an Award of Excellence winner by The Wine Spectator magazine. Live music accompanies dinner every evening and dancing is offered Friday and Saturday nights.

Sunday brunch provides a wonderful appetizer and dessert display, scrumptious entrees, champagne, and live music. Or, enjoy a special afternoon tea, complete with scones and other traditional refreshments. (Jackets and ties are required for dinner and jackets are required for Sunday brunch. This genteel colonial tavern catered to Virginias gentry and the politically influential before, during, and after the Revolution and was known as the restaurant where the elite meet and eat. (Casual attire. On Duke of Gloucester Street.)

Christiana Campbell's Tavern

Christiana Campbell's Tavern

This historic tavern, George Washingtons personal favorite, offers such seafood specialties as: sherried crab stew, crab cakes, sea pye (a dish of crab, finfish, shrimp, lobster and cream), Gloucester chicken, and beef filet and buttered shrimp. (Casual attire. On Waller Street near the Capitol.)

Chownings Tavern

Chowning's Tavern

Chownings casual menu emphasizes quick fare; freshly prepared items such as pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, beef brisket sandwiches, and Smithfield ham and Gloucester cheese on a pretzel roll; or snack items and desserts including a new Christiana's ice cream sandwich and our Brick House brownie; and other assorted quick refreshments. In the evening, Gambols provides an opportunity to enjoy an 18th-century tavern experience complete with costumed servers and strolling balladeers. (Casual attire. On Duke of Gloucester Street.)

Shields Tavern

Shield's Tavern

Shields Tavern opens its doors to guests from 11:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Enjoy long-time Historic Area favorites from bubble and squeak to peanut butter pie, complemented by a full bar menu. Taste 18th-century food like that served by proprietor James Shields in the 1740s for the lesser gentry and upper middling ranks of locals and travelers. Menu pricing offers salads starting at $6, sandwiches from $8.50, entrees beginning at $15 and desserts from $3.50. Shields is also an ideal setting for a private event for up to 80 people. In colonial times, Huzzah! was a shout of "hooray." This Colonial Williamsburg restaurant will have guests cheering this casual eatery conveniently located adjacent to the Woodlands Hotel & Suites at the Visitor Center complex. Featuring everyday favorites with colonial flair, guests can savor house-made soups, oversized burgers, specialty wraps, pasta, and fresh, hand-tossed pizza baked in an Italian-made oven. Museum Cafe
